In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court a Hilliard man changed his plea to guilty.

DeAngelo Tellis plead guilty to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and two counts of trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine).

Tellis waived his pre-sentence investigation and was sentenced by Judge Mark Fleegle to a minimum of 16 and a half years in prison and a maximum of 22 years in prison with 11 years being mandatory time and post release control for 2-5 years.

Tellis was one of eight individuals indicted by a grand jury in April 2021 after a long-term investigation that involved local, state and federal agencies.

Law enforcement said the individuals moved to the Zanesville area with the intention to sell methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Approximately 30 pounds of methamphetamine and more than two pounds of fentanyl were seized along with 13 firearms and $9,000 in cash.
