The Zanesville Community Development Committee is sending the latest proposal for a Texas Roadhouse restaurant to City Council. Tuesday night the group met to talk about an updated plan to bring the franchise to Zanesville. The development firm representing the restaurant said it would take a 30-year, 100 percent tax abatement to make the deal work. The committee rejected that plan. Community Development Director Jay Bennett was told to renegotiate a deal which is now a 15-year , 75 percent tax abatement, with other stipulations. The issue now is being sent to City Council by the development committee with no recommendation. Council meets on Monday.
