Thanksgiving Dinner at ‘House of Grace’ Church Returns

For those still looking for their seat at a table this Thanksgiving, the House of Grace Church is inviting the community to enjoy dinner with them.

The church will prepare a free feast fit for 200 Thursday and anyone hungry beginning at 11 a.m. that morning is welcome to join.

“We want to serve the community and help the community,” said Pastor Joe Dunlap. “[We want to] give them a place to go and let them feel [a] part [of something] where they don’t have to sit at home and eat by themselves on Thanksgiving day, but they have a place to come. ”

Preparation for the massive meal will begin Wednesday and Dunlap said a lot of work goes into the Thanksgiving supper.

” There’s a lot,” said Dunlap. “From the cooking of the turkeys to peeling the potatoes, the bags of potatoes, and so there’s a lot of work. The ladies put a lot of time in but a lot of hands make light work and our church is great about it. ”

The church will also have meals available for delivery at no cost and they will have rides available for those without transportation who want to eat at the church. You can simply call (740) 455-4647 to place an order, or provide your address to arrange a pick-up.
