The 2nd Annual Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend is Approaching

The 2nd Annual Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend is approaching and is welcoming the entire community out to celebrate.
The Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend Co-Founder and Army Veteran, Wayne Clark said, the idea behind this project is to promote awareness for local veterans.
"This year we’re raising money for the honor flights. This flight takes our Korean and WW2 veterans back to Washington D.C for a day to be honored in this incredible program. We’re going to take local veterans there and pay for there flights," said Clark.
Clark said the event will feature a poker run, golf outing and live music at terry’s tavern plus more. The drummer of the Hillbound Gypsies, Scot Chambers who’s also performing at the event said this is a special time for the band because it’s hits close to home.
"One of our band members is a vet but, us as a whole we fill more connected with the vets and what’s going on. There’s things that I learned today that I didn’t realize all the things that these guys are doing for the vets. I just learned and it’s exciting to be apart of that," said Chambers.
The Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend will take place June 10th, 11th and 12th.
