The 30th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction Starts Today
One of the biggest fundraisers in the Zanesville community took center stage at the Colony Square mall Thursday.
Hundreds of cakes and incentives will be auctioned off during the 30th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction. Executive Director, Kim Hosler said their ultimate goal is to sell all of their cakes and to have a successful auction.
“Actually no matter how many and whatever we make it’s still all just a gift to us from the community so personally we don’t put any aspirations for the value but, I think over the years we’ve owned a lot of money for the Carr Center which we used every year for the programs. Our goal for this year would probably be to hit the 4 million dollar mark,” said Hosler.
Hosler said all proceeds from the cake auction benefit programs at the Carr Center and it usually supports them throughout the entire year.
“It benefits youth services, which is a group speech therapy program for toddlers and private therapy for children and young adults and also we have an adult day health day program that is a recreational program for seniors,” said Hosler.
The auction continues Friday morning at 8 a.m. We will be broadcasting the auction live on AM1240 and also on our website whiznews.com.
