ZANESVILL, Ohio – It’s time to check in with the Animal Shelter Society Inc. and it’s executive director, April Gibson, for the last time in 2025.

Looking back over the past year, with events like Disco Infurno, Pickleball 4 Paws, and other fundraisers, Gibson says the community support has been great in 2025.

“We’ve had a very exciting and a very humbling year this year, at our 100% non-profit. And, the only way we can make this happen is because of the great support of our community. That goes along with our Santa Paws Supply Drive. That’s been going on since the first of December. We have donations coming in.”

The Santa Paws Supply Drive continues until the new year with the Animal Shelter Society still in need of donations of bleach, laundry detergent, and chicken-flavored pill pockets for dogs. If you’re looking for gift ideas, the shelter has a new gift idea in exchange for a donation.

“The other really cool thing that we have going on and we’ll have it until noon on Christmas Eve is a donation, if you want to come in and do it in honor or in memory of or you can call us and we can mail it out for you, a gift certificate for the holidays. So stop in or call us. 740-452-1077 and we can make sure that can happen for you. That’s one of the new things we did start this year. ”

The Animal Shelter Society Inc. will close at noon on Christmas Eve and will re-open for customer service hours on January 2 after deep cleaning and other housekeeping has been attended to.
