The Animal Shelter Society to Host a Special Cat Adoption Event

ZANESVILLE, OH – Paws and whiskers are taking over the Animal Shelter Society, and they need your help!

Within five days, the shelter has taken in 23 cats, and they’re overflowing. They’re encouraging everyone to spay and neuter their pets to keep the population in check. To make it easier, the shelter offers an affordable spay and neuter clinic for both males and females.

“We want to stress our low cost spay and neutering clinic. It’s $70 for females, and that includes the upper respiratory and the flea and tick treatment at the time of the spay. Males are $50. For an additional $5, you can get the rabies. We’ve got to stop this community cat situation that we have going on. We are drowning in felines here,” Executive Director, April Gibson said.

This Sunday, September 22nd, from 1 to 4 PM, the Animal Shelter Society is hosting a special feline adoption event. Cats over 6 months will be just $35, and kittens under 6 months will be $55. The shelter is filled with cats all sizes, colors, and personalities, and they’re hoping this event will help some of them find loving homes.

“These are fully vetted animals. They’re spayed, neutered, dewormed, have flea and tick treatment, vaccinations, and they’re microchipped. You just can’t beat it. You’re going to get a healthy animal. So, stop by the Animal Shelter Sunday, the 22nd, and not only support us, but support these felines. They deserve it,” Gibson said.

The shelter is located at 1430 Newark Road in Zanesville. To adopt, you must have an approved application. For more details or to fill out an adoption application, visit the Animal Shelter Society website.
