The Canadian Brass returns to the home of their first U.S. performance

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Concert Association (ZCA) is proud to bring a globe trotting act to the Secrest Auditorium. Canadian Brass is set to take the stage this Sunday at 3 p.m. on the same stage where they made their first U.S. concert debut.
“They are known for, not only just playing brass music but they play all sorts of kinds of music that you’d never think you could play on a brass instrument and they are real performers. They will interact with the audience,” said Jim McLaughlin, a board member of the ZCA.
If you’re in the mood to keep the evening going, there is an event right after with more music and chance to meet the musicians.
“After the concert itself, we’re having what we call our gala and that’s a dinner. And there’ll be more music there because the John Glenn Strings group will be playing for us but we’ll be joined by the members of the Canadian Brass. So we’ll get a chance to talk to them too. So that’s actually a separate ticket. If people are interested they can find out more on our website,” said ZCA President Pam Kirst.
Sunday’s concert is adults only with tickets available online and at the door for $45. College students with a current student ID get in for free and the Zanesville Concert Association offers a season membership for $85.
“… and that gets you five concerts in Zanesville and then a pass to reciprocal concerts in Mt. Vernon. So you could actually go to 11 concerts for $85,” McLaughlin said. “So it’s still a bargain because it’s $45 for one concert just going to one ticket. And these tickets you can share with other people. If you can’t go, you can share that with someone else. So we’ll sell you an individual ticket but the bargain is the season membership.”
The rest of the season line-up includes the New York Theatre Ballet in November, Peking Acrobats in February, and Tony Danza in March.
