ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A week-long celebration at the Carr Center highlights the non-profits Adult Day Care.

The organization with a mission to assist youth and adults to reach their fullest potential through educational programs and functional support, has held special events all week for those served by the adult day care.

“This week we’ve had some special new treats. We had a group come that played ukulele and we sang with them and danced a little bit. And then yesterday we had Wacky Wednesday and we had root beer floats. And we had a wonderful, I have a wonderful group of volunteers that come and they do music, they sing, they play guitars, they play the piano,” said Becky Weir, who works at the Carr Center.

The week’s events are made possible through volunteers and the work of those at the Carr Center who appreciate the community involvement from groups like the Y Briddge Ukes.

“It’s a lot of joy because you can see all the smiles on our clients faces and today we have yoga going on right now. And they got to have some essential oils and Maryjane Shackelford has provided that for us today from the Yoga Booth and it’s all local,” Weir said.
