“The Compassionate Friends Network is a group of bereaved parents,” said The Compassionate Friends Network Committee Member Lauren Wood. “It’s lead by a group of bereaved parents and the offer support to one another. Parents need an opportunity to validate their child’s lives. This gives them an opportunity to do that.”
Wood said the meetings are slated for the first Wednesday of every month.
“Unfortunately there’s a lot of families who have suffered a loss of a child. That’s a loss of a pregnancy, a miscarriage, an infant loss, or child death. And unfortunately there’s been a lot of bad car accidents that have taken the lives of young people. This is even for people who have loss an adult child. There’s a real need for parents to able able to get together and get a special kind of support, that they won’t be able to find other places,” said Wood.
