The ECM’s Chair-ity Auction is in full swing and seeing great support

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The East Side Community Ministry’s Annual Charity Auction is underway and at the Colony Square Mall. The weekend long auction continues tomorrow from 10 am to 5 pm with a variety of items.

Items up for grabs included themed chairs, incentive prizes, and raffle baskets all benefiting Eastside Community Ministry (ECM). The fundraiser includes both a silent auction inside the Colony Square Mall and an online auction and making a fun way to get items you want, while also helping others

“Yeah. So we’re really excited. We’ve seen so much traffic coming through here and met so many new people. First timers for the charity auction. I feel like we must have done something right this year because we’ve met a lot of people, had a lot of past people coming, and placing their bids. Today we sold over 400 raffle tickets,” said Jamie Trout, executive director of ECM. “It was the first time we did the raffle, so that was very exciting. We just wrapped that up. We have 15 winners to call and let them know that they won the raffle. So everything is going great and we’re just really pleased with everything this year.  ”

All proceeds will go directly toward ECM’s services, like their community closet, food pantry, and various youth programs. Thanks to the community’s support, ECM is able to hold the Charity auction year after year to support their mission.

“So this is our 11th year doing this and just having people come back year after year to support our mission, it makes us feel like we’re doing the right thing, and our community is rallying behind us. And it’s all so special that we get new people every year, and people putting things in, in memory of their family members that who used to donate to our ministry,” Trout said. “So it’s just a really good time to not only fundraise, but also to connect with people and share what we do each and every day at the ministry.  ”

The Eastside Community Ministry is located at 221 Stillwell Street in Zanesville if you are need of their services or would like to volunteer. You can also head to the Chair-ity Auction at the mall tomorrow until 5 p.m.
