The Habitat for Humanity ReStore Celebrates 10 Years

ZANESVILLE, OH – It’s a big birthday for a place that’s been helping build homes and hope for a decade. The Zanesville Habitat ReStore just turned 10.

Since opening its doors in 2015, the ReStore, operated by the Habitat for Humanity of Southeastern Ohio, has sold gently used furniture, home goods, and building materials to help fund affordable housing projects across the region. Every donation and every purchase have played a part in helping local families build safe, stable futures.

“We take in used furniture, building materials, lighting, you never know what you’re going to find in the ReStore. We process those, resell them, and then that all goes into the fund to help build the houses and fund the other programs in our organization,” Zanesville ReStore Manager Shaila Worley said.

To mark the milestone, Zanesville Mayor, Donald Mason, signed a special proclamation recognizing the ReStore’s contributions to the community and honoring its 10 years of service.

“I know that the city of Zanesville supports the Habitat for Humanity. We have a wonderful partnership and we both really want to see Zanesville continue to thrive and do great things for the people that live and work here,” Habitat for Humanity of SEO Community Engagement Director Melissa Best said.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is located at 100 Sunrise Center Drive in Zanesville. To learn more about how you can donate or shop, visit their website or check them out on Facebook.
