The MCCF’s Groundhog Day Celebration is set to bring the community together
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Community Foundation, or MCCF, is back with the 2026 Groundhog Day Celebration.
The foundation’s annual event features live and silent auctions, community leadership awards, and a Golden Ticket Drawing. The celebration also serves as a great chance to network over great food and drinks, which is what CEO Brian Wagner looks forward to most.
“I think one of the best things about this event is the fellowship that takes place. You know, a lot of folks have been cooped up because of cold weather or winter weather and haven’t been able to get together since, maybe, the Christmas and New Year holiday. So this opportunity to get back together and see friends is, I think, one of the best things about it,” Wagner said. “We have a lot of people that come in, year-in and year-out, for that very reason. To catch up with people that they, maybe, only see at Groundhog [Celebration] so that fellowship of community is one of the nice things about the event.”
Items that are up for auction include locally produced art and other items with all the proceeds going to fund grant opportunities for the Muskingum community.
“For us, this is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We’re hoping to have about $75,000-$80,000 available for the grant competition, would love to take more. But yeah, it’s one of the biggest, if not the biggest fundraising event that we have for the community foundation,” Wagner said.
Tickets are available at MCCF.org for $40 per person and a patron table of eight is $750, but according to Wagner, tables are going quickly.
