“The Monster of Phantom Lake” Comes to the Renner!

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Renner Theatre is getting ready for a spooky fun time with their upcoming production.
The cast is eagerly putting the final touches on their show “The Monster of Phantom Lake; The Musical” coming up from October 23rd through October 25th and October 30th through November 1st.
Kayla Fellow, who will be playing Stephanie Yates, says the show is set in the 50’s with all of the classic jump scares, jokes, and some tunes that everyone will enjoy.
“It’s kind of a mystery, but it’s a comedy, there’s some romance in there.” Fellow said. “It’s the story of a monster in a lake and it’s set in the 50’s, so it’s kind of that vibe, you know a 50’s B-movie, oh there’s a monster! And there are teens camping in the woods, that kind of thing.”
The show is rated PG-13 so parents, be aware there will be some adult language used.
Also for the opening weekend of the show, the Author of “The Monster of Phantom Lake” will be in attendance and on Saturday will do a meet and greet.
Jay Shaffstall, who will be playing Lobo, chatted about what it’s been like getting everything ready for the show.
“For me it’s the B-movie theme.” Shaffstall said. “Because I grew up on things like the “Creature From the Black Lagoon” and that sort of thing, so this is really a harkening back to my childhood, for me.”
