The Muskingum County Home Reunion

Dozens of former staff members from the Muskingum County Home gathered Sunday for a reunion.

It’s been four years now since the Home closed its doors. Former Employee and Event Coordinator Carole Rittenhouse said all of her former co-workers have continued to carry a close relationship through social media and they all felt now was the perfect time to reunite.

“It’s great. We weren’t just employees we were family. Everyone there was family, if one of us was down they were all down. If one of us was having a good day we were all having a good day. We loved our residents and we loved our staff,” said Rittenhouse.

The reunion took place at Riverside Park in Zanesville. Rittenhouse said once the reunion is over she wants everyone to walk away with one thing in mind.

“Keep in contact. We’re sad a lot of us didn’t make it. They might have had other plans, other events to do. But, the ones that are here as you can see, it’s feels like we never left each other,” said Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse said they plan to make this an annual event.
