The Muskingum Valley Garden Society Prepares for the Home Gardening Symposium

If you’re looking for a cool way to refresh and recycle old and unused items from your home, the Home Gardening Symposium is the place you need to be.

The Muskingum Valley Garden Society presents the 13th Annual Spring Fever Home Gardening Symposium this Saturday. This event a great way to welcome spring and share ideas with fellow gardeners.

"It’s important for them to see what Muskingum Valley Garden Society does for the community. The money that we make from the symposium we turn that back around and use it towards the purpose that we have to beautification of Zanesville and the community. Everything that you see downtown with the planters and Y-Bridge that’s what we do so it’s important that people come and support us in that endeavor so we can continue doing what we do," said Kathy Mohler, President of the Muskingum Valley Garden Society.

This annual event will take place Saturday at the Ohio University-Zanesville Campus Center. Mohler said they expect to see nearly 200 people in attendance.

"It’s the first thing that we try to do to get everybody geared up and get ready for spring. When we do the symposium we try to bring in speakers that can prepare us for things that are coming up," said Mohler.

The event runs Saturday from 7:30 a.m until 2 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $30.
