The New Hope Gospel Church Celebrates National Day Of Prayer

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The New Hope Gospel Church celebrated its 68th Annual National Day of Prayer Friday night.
It is celebrated on the First Thursday of May every year. Everyone in
the community was invited to the public prayer. Pastor of New Hope
Gospel Church, Joe DiVincenzo said this gives community members a chance
to pray for a wide range of things.
“What we’re doing is we have invited the entire community, all the
churches that are in Muskingum County, to come and for one day we go
before the Lord and we pray. We pray for different items actually. We
pray for our church and our communities. We pray for our first
responders, Sheriffs, State Troopers, all those guys. We pray for our
government, from the President on down to our local state. We pray for
the schools and colleges,” said DiVincenzo.
DiVincenzo said, that when trouble is upon us, the United States has a
history of depending on prayers. He said, from Abraham Lincoln back in
1863, throughout the wars and more, this country has found strength in
prayer. DiVincenzo wants the people in attendance to leave with hope
after praying.
“It’s a very divided country, race problems, political problems,
seems like there is no answers. Everyone is arguing with everybody, so
it’s time to call upon God and hope that they leave with hope,” said
DiVincenzo
DiVincenzo was hoping for a great attendance Friday night for the 68th Annual National Prayer day.
