The Old Market House Inn Celebrates 40 Years
Back in 1974 Jim Adornetto bought The Old Market House Inn and has kept it running for the past 40 years.
Jim reminisced with us today about the downtown buzz in Zanesville when he first opened the doors. While downtown isn’t quite as lively as it once was the community support hasn’t wavered.
"Feels very good, very good" says Adornetto. "I’m proud of the community that has supported us, I’m proud of our help. I could not do it without the community or the help. I have good help an all my restaurants."
As in all of his restaurants The Old Market House Inn doesn’t believe in processed or prepackaged foods, everything is made fresh in house daily. Daniel Allen has worked for the family for the past 40 years and he says that he admires what the Adornetto’s stand for in all of their businesses. We talked to Allen about his long history at the restaurant, he says his favorite part of his job is interacting with the customers and seeing them come back time after time.
"What’s really great is when, the first time they come, and then they come back. And we have customers on a regular basis that live out of state. Like Pennsylvania, West Virginia and they have trips to Columbus and they make it a point to stop on a regular basis."
The Old Market House Inn is the third in the trio of Adornetto’s restaurants happy to celebrate a long history in Zanesville, and the family is looking forward to many more years to come.
