The Red Kettles are Back
The Salvation Army’s largest fundraiser of the year is right around the corner.
This Saturday at the Colony Square mall is the kick off to the Salvation Army’s Annual Red Kettle Campaign, and the actual kettle’s will be out on Monday morning at 10 a.m. Program Director, Dustin Redmond told us, this is their biggest campaign and this is what keeps them going throughout the year.
“The Kettle’s goes toward the majority of our annual budget, and it helps the community of Zanesville, Muskingum, Perry and Morgan County. It is what keeps us going through the summer,” said Redmond.
There are 15 locations where people can donate to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. There will be volunteers out each day from around 10 a.m to 8 p.m, now through Christmas.
“The stores that our kettle locations will be at, at the South-end we’ll have it at Campbell Food Market, Riesbeck’s, on the North-end we’ll have it at Wal-Mart; North and South. We have it at K-Mart, Big Lots, Sam’s Club, and different local stores on Maple Avenue,” said Redmond.
All money raised will support the salvation army and its various events held throughout the year. Also, the Salvation Army Community Thanksgiving dinner is Wednesday, November 25th. You can visit or call the Salvation Army for more information at 740-452-8350.
