The Santa Cares Experience

Colony Square mall is hosting a private photo session with Santa Claus, exclusively for families of children with special needs.

This event is called Santa Cares, the main focus is create a magical experience and allow children with special needs to be welcomed into a calm photo environment designed to support their sensory, physical and developmental needs.

“We’re going to open the Santa set two hours before the mall opens so that they can come into a quiet environment with less sensory issues we’re going to turn off the music, keep the lights down and keep it nice and quiet especially, for children with autism, it creates a better environment for them,” said Kevin Pinson.

We were also able to talk to a very special guy, whose excitement for Sunday is through  the roof.

“This Sunday, we got a group of guys and girls coming in I can’t wait. When the eyes open wide and the grins comes to their faces, it’s Christmas. That’s what it’s really all about and these kids. You don’t get anymore from the heart then with these guys and girls. This is my first time and i’m really up for it; Santa is ready to go,” said Santa Claus.

The event kicks off Sunday, December 6th at 9 a.m and runs until 11 a.m. Families are encouraged to RSVP at www.abilitypath.com, prior to the event to lock in your time with Santa.
