The Shark Tub Winner Is…..

Thursday night, 15 guppies entered the “Shark Tub” at the Muskingum County Business Incubator, but only one claimed Shark Tub glory.

Zane State College and the Muskingum County Business Incubator’s first annual Shark Tub event gave 15 entrepreneurs the opportunity to win $3,000 to help take their business to the next level.

“We had over 300 (people) turn out to really see the local businesses and see them go in front of the sharks for a $3,000 cash prize,” said Client Manager, Wendy Edgar.

The public’s job wasn’t just to attend the event, using their shark dollars, they put money toward their favorite businesses and ultimately selected the top three contestants. These contestants would then present to the panel of successful Zanesville entrepreneurs, or, sharks. The top contenders were Disrupt Media, Silverback Safety & Training Solutions, and Xpressive GraphiX.

“The sharks are judging each of the top three companies on the market size, is there a solution to a need, what’s their revenue potential, and just the overall impression of the business,” stated Edgar.

After presentations, the sharks had the tough task of selecting the recipient of the $3,000 prize. Congratulations go out to Disrupt Media, the first ever Shark Tub winner.
