The Wilds Goes Smoke Free
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in central Ohio said it’s going smoke-free.
The ban also applies to the Wilds, the zoo’s non profit conservation center in Muskingum County.
Beginning Friday smoking on zoo and Wilds grounds will be prohibited.
The ban also includes electronic cigarettes.
Smoking had been allowed only in designated areas. Such areas will remain in the zoo’s water park Zoombezi Bay and for overnight guests at the Wilds.
The zoo’s President and CEO said staff anticipate a positive response to the smoking ban based on comments received from zoo guests and the community.
