Thomas “Tom” C. Pitcock, age 81 of Zanesville, passed away, 3:10 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at his home in Zanesville, following a brief illness. He was born Friday, September 18, 1942, in Newark, OH the son of James B. Pitcock and Alice Louise (Colborn) Pitcock. He was married on Saturday, November 19, 1966, to Elaine Dorothy (Stephens) Pitcock who survives.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where he served as a Lector. Tom was a 1960, graduate of Newark High School and a 1964 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He was employed in the insurance industry for over 35 years; following, he served as Parish Administrator for Saint Nicholas Catholic Church for over 15 years. He was past president of the Rosecrans Boosters and volunteered at the hospital for several years. Tom served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard for six years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 505 and very active in the Zanesville Miracle League as a coach and umpire.The Miracle League provides children and adults with mental and/or physical challenges the ability to play baseball.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by six sons: Thomas & Janna Pitcock, Andrew & Kimberly Pitcock, Aaron Pitcock, James & Tommi Pitcock all of Zanesville, Scott & Erica Pitcock of Pickerington and Jason & Anjanette Pitcock of Thornville; three daughters: Kathleen & Larry Land and Susan & William Pratt both of Zanesville and Sarah & Daniel Rankin of Worthington; twenty five grandchildren: Matthew, Adelaide, Anna & Alice Pitcock; Amber, Mandy, Erik, Aiden & Zoey Land; Daniel and Benjamin Pitcock, and Casey and Connor Church; Libby, Luke & Logan Pratt; Kyle, Jake & Ryan Pitcock; Ella & Julia Pitcock; Maggie, Olivia & Sadie Rankin and Taylor Pitcock; three great grandchildren: Cameron, Lauren and Emily; and a good friend: John Robert Hughes of Newark.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Jenna Elaine Land; one brother: Roger M. & Betty Search, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM & 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a prayer service will take place at 7:45 PM. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church, 955 Main Street Zanesville, with Fr> David Young as Celebrant.
