Thompson Pays Back Taxes To County

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says the foreclosure action against Marian Thompson has been dismissed.  Assistant Prosecutor Ron LaAsmar says Thompson paid her back taxes to the County Treasurer on Friday.  Thompson owed just over 14-thousand dollars in back takes on 70 acres of land on Kopchak Road.  On May 9th, the Prosecutor’s Office filed the foreclosure action. A letter had been sent to Thompson last November advising her of the back taxes she owed.  LaAsmar says with Friday’s action the county no longer has an action against Thompson.  Thompson may still be facing two federal tax liens.
