Three pickleball courts open at Maple Hill Park

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- There’s a new addition at Maple Hill Park in Zanesville.
Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Maple Hill Park now featured three brand new pickleball courts. Wednesday, several gathered to play a friendly game of pickleball and celebrate the 85th birthday of “Fast” Fred Noll, a long time player of the game. Noll described his favorite sport to us.
It’s between ping pong, badminton, and regular tennis,” Noll said. “It’s a real asset to the city and hopefully they have many years of play here.”
Zanesville City Engineer, Chip Saunders, Jeff Johnson, with Parks and Recreation and Public Service Director, Jay Bennett all helped to make this possible.
“To get four people that play similar is what makes pickle ball or any sport fun,” Noll said.
The new courts will be open as long as the weather permits.
