Three Sheridan Generals Sign Off on College Destinations
THORNEVILLE, OH
The fall college signing window just keeps rolling on as we make a stop in Thornville, where three Sheridan Generals put pen to paper as they will compete at the collegiate level next year. It was a big crowd on hand at the Sheridan High School commons, as Cora Hall, Coltyn Reedy, and Halle Warner have all signed their letters of intent to play sports in college. A star on the softball diamond, Hall will be attending Ohio University next fall, making her decision official after verbally committing before her junior season a year ago.
Meanwhile, Reedy will be attending the Naval Academy to continue his wrestling journey as he is set to finish his career on the mat at Sheridan this winter. Warner will be staying local as she will be playing basketball at Ohio Dominican in a year’s time as she looks to finish off her career in Lawrenceville. On a winning note this winter.
“Originally it was just because I had a lot of family that went to OU, and it was just overall, the environment, the campus, the people there. The coaching staff was really great” said Hall. “They basically just feel like the family…just copy and paste but in Athens. So it’s really nice. It’s just a great environment to be in.”
When asked about going into the Navy, Reedy said, “And the thing about Navy is it’s different from every other college. It’s not the same. It’s a different environment, the military aspect of things and what separates it from other colleges is the people there, the relationships, how they develop.”
“Honestly, you wouldn’t have expected me to pick there because I’ve always wanted to go south, like I’ve always wanted to go to Florida or South Carolina” said Warner. “And then I went on my visit and I was like, ‘oh my gosh’, I love the campus. I love the coaches and the coaches is what really made me decide to go there. This year I’ve realized that, like, I want to stay close to my family and they’re a big part of my life and I want to stay here.”
