Timothy D. “Pops” Wagner

Timothy D. “Pops” Wagner, 71, of Zanesville, Ohio died at 1:56pm on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare System, Zanesville, Ohio from a sudden illness. 

Born October 12, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio to John William Wagner and the late Rita Marie Malone Wagner. 

Timothy was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Zanesville; he was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather; he never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends; he was very generous with his time and to charitable organizations; big love for the Notre Dame fighting Irish, the Ohio State Buckeyes, NASCAR and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle; he spent a lot of time at the YMCA; his greatest joy was taking his grandchildren to swim and he loved to visit Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl with family. 

His Favorite phrase was “Think Positive” 

Survived by his wife, Pamela Tewalt Wagner; daughter, Bethany (Patrick) Renaud; son, Matthew Wagner (Kensington Hatcher); son, Michael Wagner; father, John William Wagner; stepchildren, Kara Hazelgrave and Kimberly Tewalt; 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Will, Sophia, Aemilia and Callum; siblings, Melanie (Lin) Avendano, Rose (Chris) Gobeli and John (Lynda) Wagner; four English springer spaniels, Molly, Kitty, Brutus, and Margarita.  

In addition to his mother, preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve. 

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. 

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 4, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Jan C.P. Sullivan as celebrant.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Roof Repair.
