Timothy W. Harris, 74, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, at the home of his daughter, Leanna, in Crooksville, Ohio. Born on December 24, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, Tim lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by his kindness, gentleness, and friendliness. Tim was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having  voluntarily served his country with distinction during 2 tours of the Vietnam War as a door gunner. During the period of Sept. 26, 1968 to Feb. 28, 1969 he actively participated in more than twenty five aerial missions over hostile territory. He displayed the highest order of air discipline and received the Air Medal by direction of the President of the United States. Following his military service, he embarked on a long career in the construction industry. He is survived by his daughter, Leanna Harris of Crooksville, and his son, Tim Harris Jr of New Lexington. He was a loving grandfather to Madeline and Shelby Harris, who brought him immense joy and pride. He also leaves behind his sister, Joyce Harper, and his brother, William K. (Diane) Harris. Tim’s faithful fur companion, Girl, was a constant source of comfort and companionship to him. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, William K. (Anna VanWey Harris) Harris Sr and longtime companion, Becky Dutiel. In honoring Tim’s final wishes, a dignified cremation will take place under the direction of Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville with a service to be held in Redfield at a future date and time.
