NEWARK, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Newark Police Department’s bravery and hard work was honored Wednesday afternoon at the Midland Theater. Jarrod Conley was awarded the Medal of Valor, which hasn’t been awarded in over 25 years.

Two Events to Benefit the Muskingum County Hunger Network

OSU Band Staff Member Pleads Not Guilty
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A drum major instructor for Ohio State University’s marching band has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a female student. Stewart Kitchen is suspected of assaulting an Ohio State student at his home last month.
Police Training Panel
LONDON, OHIO (WHIZ) – A police training panel plans to meet today in London, West of Columbus — the commission’s first meeting since recommendations were issued to boost police basic training requirements. The panel was set up in the wake of several fatal police shootings.
