Thomas Edison Sculpture Unveiled
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – Local sculptor Alan Cotrill created the statue of Thomas Edison that will represent Ohio in the National Statuary Hall in Washington D.C. The statue will be kept at the statehouse until October when it is scheduled to be unveiled in D.C.

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – A new recovery house will be opening at 1448 Euclid Avenue in Muskingum County. Those who are taking part in early recovery treatment in Muskingum County or other surrounding county agencies are eligible.
Mark VohsEnters Not Guilty Plea
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – 35-year-old Mark Vohs pled not guilty to three counts of trafficking and four counts of possession in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Wednesday. Sheriff Matt Lutz said Vohs was arrested this month after a search warrant was executed at a Linden Avenue home.
School Barricade Bill
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A state house committee has ok’d a bill to allow schools to install barricade devices on doors in case of emergencies. The legislation would require Ohio’s standards board to adopt rules for schools using the devices and would prohibit the banning of such devices under the state fire code.
