MUSKINGUM COUNTY (WHIZ) – Muskingum County was under a level one snow emergency this morning. The emergency was lifted at 9:00 A.M. 

2015 Budgets

ZANESVILLE (WHIZ) – The 2015 budget plans for the upcoming calendar year were discussed at City Hall Thursday. City council must first approve each budget before the money is distributed to any city department.

New Training Tool for Mid-East

MUSKINGUM COUNTY (WHIZ) – Thursday students studying criminal justice at Mid-East Career and Technology Center received a new educational tool from the Sheriff’s Office, a Kawasaki Mule. The UTV will be used as a training tool.

Christmas Distribution Day

MUSKINGUM COUNTY (WHIZ) – Salvation Army employees and volunteers handed out Christmas gifts and food boxes to families all over Muskingum County on Thursday. Distributions were made to approximately 800 families.

Police Relations

COLUMBUS, OH (AP) – Police officers and ministers are joining mental health, probation, and prosecutor’s office representatives on a new Ohio panel to study possible updates to police training. Attorney General Mike Dewine created the 16-member panel in response to issues raised in the wake of several recent police shootings nationally and protests over those shootings.
