Fatal Accident

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – According to the State Highway Patrol, one person has died and one person has been critically injured after State Route 60 South Thursday evening. The accident remains under investigation.

Dead Newborn Investigation

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Muskingum County Sheriffs Office is investigating the discovery of a dead newborn baby on Muskingum University’s campus. According to the sheriffs office the abandoned infant was discovered at 125 Lakeside Drive shortly after 9:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.

Local Veterans Honored

COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A Perry and Licking County veteran are among those being honored at a ceremony Friday in Columbus. Perry County’s Sgt. First Class Ty Henery will be honored with the Bronze Star Medal with "V" device and Specialist Robert Neumann of Licking County is also being honored as an ARCOM with "V" device.

WASHINGTON (AP) – his week’s recalls by two ice cream makers, including Ohio-based Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, have raised questions about how listeria could have contaminated the ice cream plants. There have been no known illnesses so far linked to the Jeni’s recall.
