David Tarbert is new GOP Candidate for City Law Director

ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – David Tarbert defeated fellow Republican Derrick Moorehead by 138 votes in Tuesday’s Primary election. Tarbert’s sights are now set on the November election where he will face off against Democratic incumbent Scott Hillis .

Senior Center Levy

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The .5 mil over 20-year levy for the Muskingum County Center for Seniors was voted down in Tuesday’s election. The money from the levy would have gone toward building a new center near Zane State College on state route 146.

Congressman Pat Tiberi Visits Rec Center

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – US Congressman Pat Tiberi made a visit to the Muskingum Recreation Center to see the results of the new Market Tax Credits. The building of the rec center has helped to create 100 construction jobs and 35 full-time positions at the center.

Road Work on State Route 16

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) -Work is scheduled to begin Thursday on SR 16 in Muskingum County. The work is in preparation for the resurfacing job that will begin on Monday, May 11th. Motorists will experience minor delays.

Wendy’s Selling New Bakery Company

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) -Wendy’s announced Wednesday that it is selling the New Bakery Company it employs 320 people between the two facilities in Muskingum County.
