Mike Abbot Takes Office

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The new executive director of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority, Matt Abbott, took office Monday. Abbot is the former assistant superintendent for Foxfire Schools.

MVHC Expanding to Cambridge

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Muskingum Valley Health Centers are expanding to include the Cambridge area. The new facility will be located on Clark Street near the hospital. The anticipated opening date is September 1.

Local Man Sentenced

ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – 33-year-old John Jamison the 4th went before Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge, Mark Fleegle, and was sentenced to 4 years in prison. Jamison has previously pleaded guilty to four counts of drug trafficking.

Library to Accept Credit Cards

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Muskingum County Library System no longer only accepts only cash or check. Library assistant director, Blair Tom, says a new product will allow library users to pay for library services and fees with a credit card and even deposit funds into their library card account. Tom says the new systems will all be live on Friday, May 22.

Summer Camp

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – Muskingum Behavioral Health and the Ohio University of Zanesville have partnered together for a girls summer camp on June 9-11. The camp will teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls the values of being independent, intelligent, and confident. Registration is still open.
