Total Energy Solutions visits Zane State College
Total Energy Solutions came to Zane State College this afternoon to learn more about the alternative energy technology and programs on campus.
Total Energy Solutions is working with an organization that designs work in Yellow Springs, Ohio for community solutions and energy saving and development purposes. Consultant, Paul LaPrise, said there are many different ways to be energy efficient.
"We are working with them to help them develop community solutions for energy saving for energy development, for moving from nonrenewable energy, ungreen energy to new and green energy. As part of that, we brought them here to Zanestate College to see the systems that we have installed here over the last few years."
LaPrise says they also do a lot of work with lighting and insulation retrofits and much more.
"We work on providing our clients lower energy costs through a company called volunteer energy, who purchases gas and electricity in bulk and then markets it to our clients and other clients at a lower cost then they can get it from a utility."
During the tour, the group learned about the solar thermal and solar panel arrays, and also the wind turbine at the advanced science and technology center.
