Town Hall Meeting Thursday Night
Zanesville Mayor Jeff Tilton is having a town hall meeting at the Civic League Center Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
He is inviting the entire community to the meeting to give people a chance to speak with him and other administrators about the issues facing the community. Tilton wants to hear what is concerning community members.
"This is their city," Tilton said. "It’s not my city, it’s not the administration’s city, it’s the citizens’ city, and I think they need to have a part in it, in the government and as well as anything else that is happening within the city."
The public service director, fire chief, police chief, the manager of Secrest Auditorium and the budget and finance director will be at the meeting along with Mayor Tilton to answer any questions. Tilton said it will not be a forum for people to complain but rather for them to share their concerns.
"I think it’s important for us to get out there and tell people what we’re trying to do here at city hall, and what are future plans are for the city and for them to give us feedback," Tilton said.
The meeting will last around an hour and a half, but if there are more questions at that time Tilton encourages people to schedule an appointment with the various offices. He also plans on having more of these meetings in the future.
