ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Halloween is sneaking up on us and the Muskingum Valley Parks invites the community to its first ever Trail of Treats.

Trail of Treats will take place at the Rogge Pavilion on OUZ’s campus this Saturday. The free event will feature a variety of activities and of course candy, but this isn’t your usual trick or treat. Muskingum Valley Parks Society President Teri Clapper says Trail of Treats features a unique spin aiming to support local businesses.

“We have 51 businesses so far to date that have partnered with us and are going to be joining us on the trail passing out their brochures and candy.”

Muskingum Valley Parks saw a need to help bring the community together and provide a safe place for children to trick or treat. The businesses will be decorating, dressing up, and some are even bring animals. Park District Program Coordinator Jessica Stonecypher says there’s still time to join in on the fun.

“If the community wants to become involved or any businesses would like to donate or be a part of this but can’t come we’re still accepting donations of candy or small toys that we can give out to families and kids as they come.”

There will also be a costume contest with prizes given away. You can find more information and a list of vendors on Muskingum Valley Parks Facebook page.
