Treasure Hunting in Southeastern Ohio
In the dark corners of your attic or basement there may be treasure lurking and this week’s your chance to find out.
The Treasure Hunter’s Roadshow is taking place at the Ramada Inn and they want to see what kind of treasure Southeastern Ohio has to offer. This week residents can bring in their scrap gold, collectables and memorablia and have a chance to sell the items or at least see what they’re worth.
"Actually scrap gold seems to be the thing that catches people off guard the most," said Chris Watkins manager of the event. "Now gold pieces have skyrocketed and somebody brings in a small pile of gold and we give them a check for $200-300."
Other tiems that are a big draw include coins minted before 1964, WWII memorabilia and vintage guitars. But, if you don’t want to part with your precious items, not to worry.
"People are just more interested in what the item is worth because if they are intending on passing it on to their family they just want to know what’ it is worth," explained Watkins.
The Treasure Hunters Roadshow runs through Friday from 9am-6pm and Saturday from 9am-4pm and is free to the public.
