Tree Count Down
The Festival of Trees is a holiday tradition for many in the city of Zanesville and Muskingum County.
The event kicks-off December 1st in conjunction with the Miracle on Main Street event, but the count is down slightly this year by about 40 trees.
"This is typical. We get a big huge rush toward the end of the deadline, and we always extend the deadline," says Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Kelly Ashby.
The deadline has been extended to next Friday, November 26th.
Ashby says it’s a great project for many local artists, looking to get their name out there, and it can help families turn their homes into a winter wonderland.
"I think it gives people some ideas on how to decorate for the holidays. What’s new? What are the new colors? What are the new lights looking like? " says Ashby.
After being on display, the trees will be auctioned off December 3rd.
