DRESDEN, Ohio – Tri Valley Fire District partnered with Red Cross for a blood drive in Dresden. The event saw various ages come out and donate blood and there were plenty of games to participate in afterward. Many kids enjoyed the bounce house, taking a tour of the firetrucks, and learning how to use a firefighter’s equipment.  The Tri Valley Fire District hosted the event to make sure the community is aware of fire prevention, all while making the Dresden community aware of what they do.
“We have fire prevention information we’re giving out. We’re going to be doing a fire extinguisher, demonstration training for people. We’re going to cut up a car later. Just get people involved. And with Dresden formerly being Dresden Fire Department, now we’ve created a fire district, getting people to come out and understand what it is. It’s the same equipment. It’s just basically a name change. ” said Harrold Wolford, the Tri-Valley Fire District Chief.
Multiple departments came together to make the Tri-Valley Fire District, which will cover the village of Dresden, Jefferson and Cass townships in Muskingum County, as well as Washington Township. But they could still use some help from others
“We’re always accepting volunteers when we need volunteers. And then we’re also accepting for our part time positions as well. But and we need people to help us as we help the community.” said Matt Salmons, the assistant Fire chief.
