Tri-Valley Grad Wears This Year’s Fair Crown

Royalty exists in Muskingum County, but instead of high heels this queen wears cowgirl boots.

Allison Rasor, a 2012 graduate of Tri-Valley High School was crowned this year’s Muskingum County Fair Queen. Rasor has been showing feeder calves and steers in 4-H for twelve years. Her duties as queen have taken her to parts of the fair she’s never seen before.

"Being the Fair Queen I’ve gone to all kinds of different shows even some that I’ve never been to and it’s just really interesting to really see what the fair’s all about and really learning what all the projects do and just everything," said Rasor.

Rasor’s work as queen is not done when the fair ends this weekend. She will represent Muskingum County in the Ohio Fair Queen contest this winter. Representing her county is something she is looking forward to.

"Oh it’s great I mean I’ve heard so many praises about the Muskingum County Fair, we have one of the largest fairs and it’s just really great to be able to say that I’ve represented Muskingum County," said Rasor.

In one week Rasor will head off to Muskingum University where she will study accounting. She will be back next year to show at the fair for her last year in 4-H.
