Troopers Say Kids Caused Crash

Two juveniles could be in trouble following a crash Thursday in Springfield Township.

The one-vehicle accident happened around 8 p.m. in the 900-block of Pinkerton Lane just past the intersection of Ridge Road.

According to Trooper Adam McKenzie with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, two kids were in a yard on Pinkerton pretending to hit rocks toward passing vehicles with a baseball bat.

Trooper McKenzie says a man driving a truck south on Pinkerton swerved to miss what he thought was a rock coming toward his vehicle, lost control, and crashed into a ditch. The man was not injured.

McKenzie says the crash remains under investigation and the Patrol will present the case to the prosecutor to see if any charges can be filed.
