Cole Named Deputy Director of Muskingum County EMA

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency has announced the appointment of Troy Cole as its new deputy director.

Cole’s first day in the role was July 8th. Cole comes with an impressive background well-suited to his new responsibilities. Previously, he served as the deputy director at Coshocton County EMA and the Office of Homeland Security. His extensive experience in medical services and fire makes him exceptionally qualified for the position.

“I’ve been a fire fighter for 32 years, working on 33 years right now in December. I’ve been an EMT for about 25 of those years, a hazmat tech for about 25 of those years, and a member of the USAR team and hazmat team in the local area. Then I just spent ten years at the Coshocton County EMA,” Cole said.

As deputy director, Cole has ambitious goals to improve the county’s emergency preparedness and response systems. He is committed to continuing efforts to keep Muskingum County safe, and he plans to revive and strengthen the regional Urban Search and Rescue team.

“There’s a few things I’d like to do with the hazmat team. We used to have a regional USAR team, which is search and rescue. We need to work on that a little bit. That’s probably one of my bigger goals is to try to get that back up and working in case we have something where a building collapses,” Cole said.

Cole looks forward to working in the county he calls home and protecting the community he knows and loves every day.
