Trunk or Treat

ZANESVILLE, Ohio– Halloween is coming up soon, and one local church is getting a head start on the fun.
Coburn United Methodist Church hosted a Trunk or Treat for its members and community. The Children’s Ministry at the church organized the event and invited members to participate. Members showed up and showed out decorating their cars and lining the parking lot passing out goodies. Sarah Dosch, the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, said the church is excited to host this event.
“We’re hosting a trunk or treat here for the community just to open up our church and let the community know that we’re here and that we welcome all families of all kinds,” said Dosch. “We want to show them the love that Jesus has for them and just welcome them to our church.”
The church wanted to provide a fun, safe place for kids to trick-or-treat. The kids came prepared decked out in their best costumes. Their favorite part of the night was pretty obvious.
“Getting the candy from the back of the cars!”
“Candy!”
“We go trick-or-treating!”
“We also get to eat snacks, and we also get to play games and win prizes.”
Some of the adults even got in on the fun and dressed up as well. Some even decorated their cars to match their costumes.
