Two Frazeysburg Residents Indicted After Drug Bust

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says two area residents have been indicted by a Grand Jury on multiple drug charges.  Lutz says 67-year-old Vernon “Nick” Adkins is charged with engaging in a patter of corrupt activity, cultivating marijuana, possession of marijuana, money laundering and possession of criminal tools. Lutz says 47-year-old Joyce Ewing was also indicted and she faces multiple charges including cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possessing criminal tools. Lutz says on January 8th members of the Muskingum County/Zanesville City Joint Drug Unit and Frazeysburg Police executed a warrant at 10910 Carlisle Road in Frazeysburg. Investigators discovered two indoor grow rooms that contained 163 marijuana plants with a weight of 15,000 grams and a street value of $163,000. They also seized $35,000 cash, two Harley Davidson motorcycles, 2000 Jaguar and property located in the residence. They also found six guns. Adkins is being held on $250,000 bond and Ewing posted a $50,000 bond.
