Two Men Charged Following Tuesday’s Police Chase
Two men have been charged Thursday in connection with a pursuit involving police on Tuesday that resulted in a rollover crash near Zane State College.
Sgt. Jon McCoy with the Zanesville Police Department says 20-year-old Brandon Goins of Zanesville was charged with having a weapon while under disability, a third degree felony, and with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Justin Hague, 19, also of Zanesville, was charged with failure to comply with a police officer with risk of harm, a third degree felony.
Officers attempted to pull over the men’s vehicle for expired plates shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday when it led them on a chase throughout Zanesville.
The chase ended when the vehicle flipped while attempting to pass traffic on State Route 146 near the Zane State / OUZ campus. Officers found both guns and drugs in the vehicle.
