Two-Vehicle Accident In Downtown Zanesville

A two-vehicle accident shuts down parts of downtown Zanesville this afternoon.

According to Sargeant Chris Phipps with the Zanesville police department, a black Dodge Avenger was traveling northbound on Sixth Street and collided with a Chrysler mini-van that was traveling eastbound on Main Street. The Avenger hit the mini-van causing it to roll over on its side. According to Phipps, both drivers claim their was an additional third vehicle involved but was not hit. Police say the accident was most likely caused by one of the vehicles running a red light but have not determined which vehicle was at fault.

Both drivers did not sustain any injuries in the accident which remains under investigation.
