Two Vehicle Accident On I-70

A Nashport woman is hurt after she was involved in a two vehicle accident with a semi on I-70 Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Zanesville Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Forshey says 32-year-old Erica Ward was driving west on I-70 near the Adamsville exit, in the passing lane, when a semi also traveling west, hit her car.

"They made contact with each other causing the maroon car to spin out of control," said Trooper Forshey. "She came through the median and rolled over twice."

Trooper Forshey said Ward was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with multiple injuries. The truck driver is identified as 47-year-old Michael Puls of Waterford, Michigan.  He was not hurt.

"This could have been a lot more severe. If she would have tumbled one more time out into the eastbound traffic there’s no telling how it would have turned out, so we’re pretty fortunate right now," said Trooper Forshey.

Trooper Forshey said traffic was backed up for about a half mile and the eastbound passing lane blocked while crews cleared the scene. The truck driver was cited for not driving in a marked lane.
