United Way Campaign Preparations

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties is preparing for their annual campaign.

United Way uses this annual campaign to raise money to fight health, education, and financial stability within Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties. Campaign Chairman Larry Triplett explained all the money raised goes towards those who need it most.

“They’ve done a great job of utilizing every last dollar of the money that comes in,” Triplett said. “They’re very efficient about their money. They make sure that every dollar that’s being used goes towards some sort of result, some sort of impact.”

The Zanesville Fire Department and Zanesville Police Department are training and preparing for the campaign kick-off in the ways they know best. Triplett was given the opportunity to see first hand how Z.F.D. and Z.P.D. are preparing.

“The campaign is going to be a riot this year,” Triplett said. “We’ve got a big ‘Tug of War’ going on at the launch event between the [Zanesville Police Department] and the [Zanesville Fire Department] and it’s going to be September 14, 2017 out at the [Muskingum Family Y Park Central] and it’s going to be a big event. The two departments are already trash talking each other.

Zanesville Police Captain Chris Phipps and Zanesville Fire Chief Eric Waltemire both claimed that even though they are having fun and being competitive. The two departments will continue to work together and have a good relationship.

United Way of M.P.M. is holding their ‘Tug of War’ Campaign Kick-off September 14, 2017 at Muskingum Family Y Park Central starting at 6:00 P.M. Parking will be in the Ohio University Zanesville Campus parking lot.
