United Way Celebrates Campaign Success

The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties announced the results of their annual funding campaign and community impact investment.
It happened Tuesday morning at the Foodworks Alliance in Muskingum County.
Meg Deedrick, Executive Director, opened the celebrations by reviewing the goals of United Way of MPM and
invited local people and programs to partner with United Way in achieving those goals. Kyle Dunn, Resource Development Director at United Way, announced that Campaign 2018 yielded $800,000.
Community volunteers invested over 360 hours to help raise this amount. Dunn then announced that 100% of donor dollars
will go to community programs to support goals in health, education and financial stability.
All campaign proceeds will support community impact investment, donor choice designations, and United Way initiatives.
Donor choice designations have already begun to be distributed. Jason Wilhelm, United Way of MPM Board
President, announced this year’s award recipients.
The Following awards were distributed:
President’s Award Morgan County – Which is awarded to an individual who makes a significant
volunteer contribution that impacts our community. Award went to: Jenna Jenkins, Morgan Metropolitan Housing Authority.
President’s Award Perry County – Which is awarded to an individual who makes a significant
volunteer contribution that impacts our community. Award went to: Christopher Mooney, STAR Engineering.
President’s Award Muskingum County – Which is awarded to an individual who makes a significant
volunteer contribution that impacts our community – Dwayne Liles.
Arlene and Clay Littick Service Award – The agencies highest award, given to the person or
organization who best exemplifies the Spirit of the United Way. – Patrick Nash, President of Century National Bank.
Finally, Becky Clawson, Community Impact Director, announced that The United Way of Muskingum, Perry
and Morgan Counties (UWMPM) will make an impact in the tri-county region over the next 12 months by
investing in 24 area programs in the areas of health, education, and financial stability. This is possible as a result
of over 2,000 individuals, businesses and organizations who invested in United Way during the 2018 Campaign.
Applicants were asked to identify how their work advances one of the nine outcomes on the Community Impact
Matrix. Programs that received funding are achieving the United Way of MPM goals and measurements from
the Community Impact Matrix. Community leaders with diverse professional skills and backgrounds donated
over 288 hours to review applications and make funding recommendations to the United Way Board of
Directors. Investment Committee members evaluated each program application in the following categories:
program description, program results, outcome measurement, past performance, coordination with other
resources, budget, resource management, and sustainability.
The United Way also earlier held celebrations at the Riecker building in
Morgan County and New Lexington Elementary School in Perry County on June 18 th and June 25 th ,
